403(b) News Update

NOTICE OF AMENDMENT TO SECTION 4
OF THE SOLICITATION FOR CHARITY ACT
(Public Act 096-0488)


Effective January 1, 2010 the audit threshold for charitable organizations whose Fundraising functions are carried on solely by staff and volunteers will be raised from $150,000 to $300,000. (225 ILCS 460/4) The new $300,000 audit threshold applies to annual reports that are due (without considering any extension granted) after the January 1, 2010 effective date of the amendment.

The audit threshold of $25,000 for charitable organizations who use the services of paid professional fundraiser has not been changed. (225 ILCS 460/4)
